It is easy to become weighed down by the burdens of life. You may see others who appear to have their lives together and wonder why you’re different. Mental health is something that interacts with every portion of your life. I hold to a holistic view of counseling which considers your body, mind, relationships, and spiritual being. When one part is suffering, the rest is going to suffer.
Ministering with my husband led me to the field of counseling. Too often, mental health is dismissed in the Christian world. As a pastor’s wife, I have witnessed many Christians who feel that their mental health struggles are due to a lack of faith. You can be a fully faithful Christian and struggle with depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. You are a wonderful creation living in a fallen world, and your mind is not exempt from the curse. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” – 2 Timothy 1:7
It is my hope to create a safe, non-judgmental space for you to engage in the therapeutic process, regardless of your worldview. I offer a person-centered approach to tailor treatment to your individual needs. I will often pull techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy and emotion-focused therapy. I am geek friendly and conversant with a wide variety of fandoms. I find that these passions can be incorporated into the therapeutic process for clients of all ages.
I obtained my master’s degree in counseling from Messiah University with a focus in clinical mental health counseling. I am nationally certified through the National Board of Certified Counselors and have my APC through the state of Georgia. I am passionate about offering counseling in a professional and ethical manner.
